Good place for mental health services.

I admitted my daughter to Storemont Vail Mental Health and the results were great. They were able to stabilize her in 3 days. The staff was great and they kept my daughter's other Dr's and myself in the loop. I refuse to take her to the revolving door mentality of the mental health centers in the KC metro. Hopefully she will not have a relapse, but I will definitely bring her back.

Recently stayed here on the adult ward. The staff was amazing from the moment I was admitted until I was released. I've never been to a facility before so I was quite scared, but they truly helped me.

Was on the adult ward most recently. They’re okay, for the most part. I think the most irritating is listening to the night nurses/staff gossip about patients and each other, and complain about their jobs. No one cares if you do that while everyone’s asleep, but once someone is up, stop. It’s very unprofessional, and made myself and the other patients I spoke with self-conscious & uncomfortable. (If they’re complaining about so-and-so, they’re probably complaining about us, too.) That’s the only big problem. The food is pretty good, there’s far far worse anyway. Being the last unit to eat though, you find a lot of the good stuff is gone. You have the exact number of patients, so I’m not sure why that is. Oh, and I don’t know if they get “donations” from whoever owns Abilify and Seroquel, but everyone gets prescribed those medications. Literally everyone I talked to. It kind of makes you question their integrity, but at the same time, you’re only there a few days. Outpatient can switch your meds up. Other than that, the groups are pretty good, just wish there were a little more variety. The war on tobacco & caffeine is annoying, but understandable. It’s a hospital, after all. It’s a place to get away from life after life has really beat you up in some way, and it does that job fine. Hope I never have to return, but if I do, I would be fine with this hospital.

My adult daughter was a patient here last year when she started ECT treatments as a referral from SRHC. She didn't care for the facility and lack of structure and poor groups. She did however really like the staff one-on-one and the doctor. She especially liked the woman who took her to her ECT and sat with her afterwards. The staff made the difference for her in this case.
